INDIA HAS JUST 5 YEARS TO SOLVE
ITS WATER CRISIS
About 100 million people across India are on the front lines of a water crisis. A total
of 21 major cities are poised to run out of ground water next year, according to 2018 report
by a govt. run think tank. Urban lakes and inlets have been lost to encroachment and
environmental degradation. They also have limited water conservation infrastructure:
rainwater harvesting system, water reuse and recycling & waste water treatment. Taps have long run
dry in cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad. The wealth divide may put more poor people in danger.
