THE CURRENT POLITICAL CLIMATE
OF INDIA
The ruling political party (BJP) primarily concentrates its energy on electoral
politics and ground level management of polling booths to win elections and capture power.
BJP has strong will to power. Inbetween elections, it fights the opposition with
repressive use of government agencies, such as, CBI, ED and POLICE.
The main oposition party Congress has lost its strong will to power. Its leader
Rahul Gandhi does not click with people of India, as an attractive political leader.
Indian culture is fatalistic. Most Indians believe in destiny. Hindu religion, the
religion of the vast majority, has emphasized the caste-system based ideology that each
individual should respect the traditions of its group identity (station in life) dutifully. As a
result, indians generally are not prone to revolt against social injustices. They do not fight
vigorously for their constitutional human rights.
